Mike and Jane Kinghorn, The Blue Dog Cat - Admiral 38'

We purchased the Blue Dog Cat in December 2005, flying to Cape Town in late November and leaving upon the completion of the boat on December 20th.

We had a Christmas party at sea on our way to St. Helena where we enjoyed New Year's Eve with the islanders. Our next stop was Fortaleza, Brazil, then to Tobago, Trinidad and on to Ft. Lauderdale Florida.

Our passage was 42 days with the trade winds doing what they were suppose to do and the bag up most of the time.

In February we were Admiral's display boat in the Miami Strictly Sail Boat Show. We enjoyed this role again in Feb. '07 as there was a scheduling problem with the other 38' Admiral had planned to display.

Since we returned to South Florida we have enjoyed a number of trips to Key West. We have also gone around Cape Sable to Marco Island. Last May we set out for the Northeast and got as far as Long Island Sound before it got too chilly for us Floridians. Trips planned for our future are the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands through Cuba (government willing) and Puerto Rico.

The boat is a lot more than we had ever planned to own and has more than met our needs. Although we have learned a few things we didn't want to know about plumbing and generators, she has kept us dry, comfortable and fully realizing our sailing dreams.
